An MCP server for your business phone

Use SimpleVox with any AI assistant or agent that supports MCP. Point it at the SimpleVox server and sign in, and it can read your calls, texts, transcripts and contacts. With your permission, it can also send texts, set up calls and keep contacts current.

  1. Call with Dana Ortiz · 0:41“Could I get a quote by Friday? We're picking a contractor this weekend.”
  2. Missed call from (312) 555-0144 · 9:20“No voicemail left. Nobody has called or texted back yet.”
  3. Text from Lakeview HOA · 8:58“Gate code is 4471 for Thursday.”

Three things. Dana Ortiz wants a deck quote by Friday. Someone at (312) 555-0144 called at 9:20 am, left no voicemail, and hasn't heard back. And Lakeview HOA sent the gate code for Thursday.

Want me to call the 9:20 caller back from your Office number? SimpleVox rings you first, then connects you when they answer.

What your agent can work with

Tools for reading history and contacts, texting, contacts and assisted calls. An agent sees only the tools its connection is allowed to use.

  • Account and setup

Who you are, your time zone, the numbers you can use, and what's left to set up, like a number or a texting registration.

  • Contacts

Search by name, company, email or phone, and create or update contacts shared across the business.

  • History and counts

Recent calls, texts and voicemails, the ones still waiting on a reply, and counts by day, number, direction or outcome.

  • Search

Find words and phrases across texts and call transcripts, and quote the exact passage.

  • Recordings, transcripts and summaries

The full record of each call, with the passages and messages each summary point was built from.

  • Texts and calls

Send a text from a business number, or start, check and end an assisted call that connects a person with the customer. The AI never talks on the call.

Built for agents that need to be right

An agent is only as good as what it can check. SimpleVox returns the source passages and messages alongside every summary, so your agent can quote the customer's actual words and link to the moment they said them.

Actions are safe to retry: a repeated request returns the original text or call instead of sending it again, so a flaky connection never double-texts a customer.

Access and control

  • Your own sign-in

Each person connects your AI tool with their own SimpleVox account. Nobody shares a password or a key.

  • You choose what it can do

Looking things up is always included. Sending texts, setting up calls and updating contacts are each yours to switch on.

  • Only the numbers you choose

your AI tool reaches the numbers you can, and you can narrow it to just a few when you connect.

  • Everything on the record

Texts and calls your AI tool starts show up in the conversation under your name, so your team always knows what happened.

  • Your settings stay yours

Billing, numbers, call routing and your texting registration stay in your hands, whatever you allow.

  • Disconnect anytime

Disconnect in SimpleVox or in your AI tool, and access stops right away.

The SimpleVox API

Prefer code to chat? The REST API at https://api.simplevox.app/v1 gives your own scripts and tools your activity, contacts and their history, call recordings, transcripts and summaries, plus a change log you can poll. On Boost, the API can also make calls and send texts for custom integrations and automations.

Start with the API overview in our docs.

Things to ask, and things to hand off

Try any of these once you're connected. Answers link to the calls and messages they're based on, and actions run only if you allowed them.

  • Find every contact who called the Estimates number in the last 30 days.
  • Text Dana Ortiz from the Office number: we'll be there Thursday at 8.
  • Show the sources behind the summary of yesterday's 3:40 pm call.
  • Add Sam Kim's new email to his contact.
  • What came in on our numbers since this morning?
  • Set up a call with the customer at (512) 555-0142 and introduce me first.

Questions people ask

Which tools work with the SimpleVox MCP server?

Any client that supports remote MCP servers with OAuth sign-in, including Claude, ChatGPT and Grok. Other assistants, agent frameworks and editors work when they support remote MCP with OAuth and HTTPS sign-in.

Can an agent take actions?

Yes, with the permissions you grant. Reading is always included. Sending texts, creating and editing contacts, starting assisted calls and ending them are separate, optional permissions. Billing, numbers and call flows stay off limits.

Is it safe for agents to retry?

Yes. A repeated request with the same idempotency key returns the original text or call instead of sending it again.

How do agents authenticate?

With OAuth 2.1 and PKCE, as a specific SimpleVox user. Clients register themselves, and each connection reaches only that user's numbers, narrowed to the ones they choose, with the permissions granted to it.

When should I use the REST API instead of MCP?

Use MCP when an AI assistant or agent is asking questions or taking actions for a person. Use the REST API when you're writing code that needs predictable data, like a nightly report, a sync into another tool or, on Boost, an automation that sends texts or places calls.

Is the API versioned?

Yes. The REST API lives under /v1.
