Connect Claude

Connect SimpleVox to Claude and work your calls and customers from any chat. Claude uses SimpleVox through a custom connector, with your own SimpleVox sign-in and only the permissions you give it.

  • A SimpleVox account in a workspace, with access to at least one number.
  • A Claude plan that includes custom connectors. Anthropic’s help pages list which plans do; free accounts are limited to one custom connector.
  • The SimpleVox server address: https://my.simplevox.app/mcp. It’s also on Settings → Integrations in SimpleVox, with a Copy button.
  1. In Claude on the web or the desktop app, open Customize, then Connectors. In some versions this is under Settings.

  2. Choose Add custom connector.

  3. Enter a name, such as SimpleVox, and the server URL https://my.simplevox.app/mcp.

  4. If Claude asks about authentication, choose Sign in now. For OAuth client, choose Register automatically. SimpleVox supports automatic registration but not Use Claude’s published identity. Leave any OAuth client ID, secret and request headers empty: SimpleVox doesn’t use API keys for AI connections.

  5. Choose Add. If Claude doesn’t start sign-in straight away, choose Connect next to SimpleVox. When Claude opens SimpleVox in your browser, sign in if you’re asked to.

  6. Check the consent screen: the workspace and email shown are yours, and the Redirect URI is a claude.ai address.

  7. Choose what it can do. Tick any permissions you want under Also allow it to, and choose All numbers you can access or Only the numbers I choose. Then choose Authorize. See Choose what each connection can do.

  8. You’re sent back to Claude, and SimpleVox shows as connected.

Once it’s connected, SimpleVox works in Claude on the web, the desktop app and the mobile apps.

Add SimpleVox from your terminal:

Terminal window
claude mcp add --transport http simplevox https://my.simplevox.app/mcp

Then start Claude Code, run /mcp, choose simplevox and authenticate. Your browser opens SimpleVox’s sign-in and consent screen. The Redirect URI is an address on your own computer, such as http://localhost: followed by a port, and SimpleVox labels it An app on this computer. Choose permissions and numbers, then Authorize, and return to the terminal.

Turn SimpleVox on for the chat: choose + at the lower left of the message box, then Connectors, and switch SimpleVox on. Then ask a question:

Who called the Office number today? What did each person want?

If you gave the connection more permissions, you can ask Claude to act too:

Text the customer from this morning’s voicemail on the Office number and tell them we can come Thursday at nine. Show me the text before you send it.

Before approving an action, read Control and safety. Claude may also ask you to approve a tool before it runs it. Think twice before choosing Always allow for Send a text or Start a call. In Customize → Connectors you can block individual SimpleVox tools you don’t want Claude to use.

For call setup, see Assisted calls. For more ideas, see example prompts.

To stop Claude using SimpleVox, remove the connector in Claude under Customize → Connectors. You can also choose Disconnect next to it on Settings → Integrations in SimpleVox. That stops access straight away, even if Claude still lists the connector.

  • Sign-in fails or Claude says it couldn’t connect. Check the address is exactly https://my.simplevox.app/mcp, with no slash at the end, and that the OAuth client is set to register automatically. Remove the connector and add it again. If it still fails, email support@simplevox.net and say which Claude app you’re using.
  • Claude says it needs to reconnect. The connection was disconnected, your access changed, or it hasn’t been used for a long time. Connect again from Customize → Connectors.
